Oh goodess gracious me....!

I got a second job. Its at my town's local waterslide. How the hell did this happen?

While my boyfriend was cooking a wonderful dinner of Roast Pork, roasted potatoes and vegetables, there was a knock on my window. I got him to check and it was my workmate who said they needed me to work at the waterslide tomorrow from 930 to 4pm. I've never worked at a water park before.

So I shall have to let you all know how the day was.

I miss cooking..., and baking. I so miss it... :(

Sore ankle and no cooking progress

My mother once told me the longer it takes me to do something the more I will regret it later. i have two assignments due this week and have only one half started. I'm not really in the mood to do them because of my ankle. Oh yeah, I haven't told you guys what happened..... :)

being me, I wanted to have some type of exercise in my life to keep me fit. being part of a gym didn't help because my other half and I have different shifts and I still am yet to get my licence. New idea: Netball! First game was Thursday night just gone. It was the first time I had played in about 7 years ( after being banned in high school)..., rules were the same and I knew what I was doing, it was just the whole fact of if I fell onto the net (it was indoor netball) it would be a penalty.

So I tried to stay off the net but when I fell and tried to save myself, I rolled my ankle... the same one, three times. Didn't help also that a larger girl on the other team kept standing on it. So now its wrapped in a bandage and sore as anything... which means no cooking for me!

Pretty much I have been doing nothing since I sprained it. I have assignments due that need to be done, I have paperwork for work I have to get done and I have housework 9including cooking ) that I really should be doing.

Rest? Work? Rest? Work? Rest? Work?

Its a little bit hard when everything just keeps going wrong.

here's hoping its better by next weekend.... *le sigh*

First cooking exerience!

Made my zucchini slice tonight for the first time for me and my housemate.

Used this recipe.

Here's the photo. Made a tossed salad and roast potatoes.

New will to cook....!

After getting my Ls (learner license), I now have a new will to cook.

Wondering what I should make tonight for dinner?

Any suggestions?

Dinner party tomorrow

Entree: Potato Fritters with shallots

Main: Kebabs, Potato bake with a side of zuccini slice

Dessert: Caramel Tart topped with white chocolate and cream

La Comédie humaine

After reading a few chapters of La Comédie humaine, I have decided for bed.

I can feel my bed heating up because of the wonderful (cheap, might I add) electric blanket I bought for such cool nights.

The Julie/Julia Project will be read more tomorrow. I must say though, that the movie was wonderful.

Four troublesome Insects living restlessly

Living in a small apartment with three other people (one of who is my perfect partner in every way shape and form) is rather hard at times. My partner, who cooks dinner for me almost every night, is perfect, no doubt, but I sometimes wonder how he can put up with me :p

My housemates, on the other hand, I don't know how I put up with them. I work with one and the other is her boyfriend. Lets just say that she nags so much I feel like belting her over the head with a tuna fish and he barely does anything, except make a mess. That's what he's good at, that's for sure.

In this small apartment, where my lounge room and my dining room and my small tiny kitchen is located, I shall slowly begin to teach myself something in between my full time job and my nightly studies - Cooking.

Yes, I'm gonna try a Julie/Julia type fiasco and teach myself how to cook splendid meals that my mother and father and partner can be proud of. Right now, consequently, Julie and Julia is on, which makes me want to cook. Or bake. Either / or...., well, best go and have some dessert now....., freshly baked pavlova topped with fresh berries and cream....,
